What is the pelvic floor?

Your pelvic floor is the foundation for your entire core. It is made up of a group of muscles at the base of your pelvic girdle that create a sling to support your organs, serve as sphincter control (keeping things in and letting them out), stability for your hips/low back/pelvis, and important for sexual function.

What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a type of therapy aimed to improve the strength and function of the pelvic girdle and core. We tailor your treatment to your individual needs based on your comfort level and presenting symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Isn't PF PT just kegels?

  • Do I have to do internal exams?

No! Internal exams are typically beneficial on the first visit, but we do not have to do an exam if you would prefer not to.

while very common, it is not normal! PF PT can absolutely help with stress incontinence and it is one of the easiest diagnoses to treat!
